Subject:- Kumarakom Tourism Destination

We would like to submit just a few points for the time being, as the first thought, for the sustainable development of the Kumarakom Tourism Destination, as follows.

Continuous Road Accidents & Traffic Block In Kumarakom
(1) There is a Milestone (നാഴികക്കല്ല് / മൈൽക്കുറ്റി ) and an Electric Post, obstructing the Buses and Heavy vehicles in the Main Junction in Kumarakom. Therefore, the milestone should be removed, and the Electric post should be relocated as early as possible.

(2) There is a Culvert (കലുങ്ക്) just before Kumarakom Bus Stand, over there the Road is very narrow, and there also the traffic block is an issue. This unnecessary structure may be demolished, and the road can be widened.

(3) There is another Culvert (കലുങ്ക്) and a sharp curve before Kumarakom Govt. Boat Jetty, where Ammankery – Nava Nazreth Road starts. Many road accidents, including fatal ones, have occurred at this location due to poor road conditions. Heavy traffic congestion is also frequent. This issue requires immediate attention and rectification.

Canal Tourism in Kumarakom
All canals in the Kumarakom Tourism Destination shall be cleaned, cleared of all obstructions, and dredged to ensure adequate depth, cleanliness, and navigability, thereby promoting tourism activities in the region.

Government Ferry Service
Direct Govt. Boat Services are required between Alappuzha and Nalupank at Kumarakom, to promote Tourism in Kumarakom.

Website For Kumarakom Grama Panchayat
Necessary Permission and Assistance may be granted to Kumarakom Grama Panchayat to create a Website for Promoting Tourism and connected Activities in Kumarakom Tourism Destination.
